Get Best Medicare
Medicare-related plans are regulated by each state and approved for sale within geographic service areas.
In most cases, these areas are organized on a county-by-county basis; in some large urban markets, they're organized on a city or even neighborhood basis.

DIY Guide to Medicare Shopping
With Baby Boomers reaching retirement there are on average 10,000 Americans who turn 65 every day each year, and will continue to do so until 2029.
Parts A,B, C and D
As a senior you probably thought your alphabet days were over, but there’s a new alphabet you’ll need to learn in order to navigate Medicare plans and come out on top.
Medicare Part A covers hospital stays and skilled nursing facilities. Anyone who is qualified for Social Security benefits or whose spouse does, typically qualifies for free part A. To qualify you must work for at least 40 quarters where you contributed to social security payroll taxes.
This year newcomers to Medicare can expect to pay $121.80 a month premium for part B as long as their modified adjusted gross income in less than $85,000 or $170,000 if married and filing jointly. Those who earned more in 2014 will pay surcharges for both Part B and Part D.
If you feel like you have been unfairly tagged with a surcharge there is an appeals process.
Medigaps
There are 10 types of Medigap plans, also known as supplement policies. These policies are often sold by private insurers regulated by state insurance departments, not the Medicare program itself. These plans can help cover costs Medicare doesn’t cover.
Out of all the Medigap plans, Plan F is the most popular. It is generally considered the most complete Medigap plan available. Pricing is determined by location, so you can use the Medigap Policy Search tool to identify potential charges.
Despite the wide range in pricing, all Plan F policies must cover the same thing. Insurers cannot compete on features so they compete on price instead creating a better marketplace for the consumer. Be sure to check with the state insurance department to see if there are any complaints made against an agency before purchasing a policy.
Medicare Advantage
Medicare Advantage plans are required to provide the same coverage as Part A & Part B. However, they may also include Part D as a bundle. Medicare Advantage also has an annual out-of-pocket limit which protects seniors from expenses occurred under traditional Medicare. Consumers are able to purchase a medigap plan or an Advantage plan, but not both.
Unfortunately, Medicare Advantage plans rely on proprietary networks of doctors, hospitals and other care providers under their control. This may limit your access to providers in a network. You may see an out of network doctor, but the cost is high.
